Foundations, charities recipients of donations

Foundations and entities that contributed recently to Maui County community nonprofits and others are as follows:

* As part of its Legacy of Aloha program, Duke’s BeachHouse recently donated just over $2,000 to Autism Bridges Maui, a local nonprofit that provides support to families with children who have autism. Funds for this particular Legacy of Aloha donation were raised through the restaurant’s nightly Duke’s Tasting Menu from January through March 2013.

* In honor of Earth Day, The Fairmont Kea Lani, Maui recently sponsored a community reef cleanup through Trilogy Excursion’s Blue’aina Program, donating $1,000 to Coral Reef Alliance. With a long-standing commitment to environmental stewardship and responsible tourism, the reef cleanup adds to the resort’s list of more than 50 sustainability initiatives.
