Soiree to introduce Haiku Elementary School Foundation

The Board of Haiku Elementary School will introduce the newly formed Haiku Elementary School Foundation during a “friendraiser” from 6 to 10 p.m. Saturday at the Maui Country Club.

The STAR LIGHT * STAR BRIGHT Soiree will officially celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Haiku Ho’olaule’a and Flower Festival and launch of the Haiku Elementary School Foundation.

“The Haiku School Foundation got started because some caring community members who love Haiku were interested in helping our little school,” said HESF Board President Jennifer Oberg. “Their caring attitude spread to others and the vision of the foundation developed from there.”

The Foundation’s Phase One will involve identifying maintenance and upkeep projects at Haiku Elementary School and raising money to address crucial projects.

In Phases Two and Three, the goals are to create an updated master facility plan that will lead to the design and construction of a multipurpose building for the campus.

Tickets to the soiree are $100 per person. Group tickets are available.

The event will be a festive tribute to the community of Haiku. There will be food, libations and music by the Lily Meola Band, along with special Haiku family musical appearances.

To purchase tickets, go to or call Haiku Elementary School at 575-3000.
