Park to host first artist in residence

Haleakala National Park invites the public to several events featuring the artwork of Natalie Westbrook.

The printmaker, painter and collage artist is the park’s first artist in residence. She was selected by a jury panel made of National Park Service and Maui Arts & Cultural Center representatives. The applicants included musicians, sculptors and painters.

“We are excited to see what Natalie creates during her two weeks in the park,” said Melissa Chimera, volunteer coordinator. “She offers us a fresh artistic perspective on a beloved place, as well as an opportunity to share her diverse talents with our student interns and visitors.
