Booth space available for ‘Pride Weekend’ event
Maui Pride Organization is accepting applications to rent event booths for its second annual “Pride Weekend,” a three-day weekend event from Oct. 4 to 6, to celebrate diversity and promote understanding of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community on Maui.
Businesses and nonprofit organizations can rent a booth for the all-day festival on Oct. 5 from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Maui Tropical Plantation. The price to rent a booth, including one table and two folding chairs, is $50 for businesses and $25 for nonprofits.
Businesses may also opt to list their companies in the Maui Pride Business Directory for $10 a month.
The festival weekend will start Oct. 4 with a private reception at the Maui Sunseeker Resort in Kihei, followed by a free, all-ages party at Moose McGillycuddy’s in Kihei at night. On Oct. 5, event organizers have planned a morning hike, as well as a free, all-day event with entertainment and vendor booths at Maui Tropical Plantation.
The weekend will conclude with a breakfast at Stella Blue’s in Kihei on Oct. 6.
Maui Pride is also offering scholarships of up to $5,000 for college-bound LGBT youth. Applications are due Aug.16.
