Sakuma and Fricke recognized by Kiwanis for years of service
The Kiwanis Club of Kahului recently awarded membership in the Kiwanis California-Nevada-Hawaii Foundation’s William A. Dunlap Fellowship to John Sakuma and Milt Fricke who have served the community through Kiwanis for 55 and 46 years, respectively.
The Dunlap Fellowship award also was presented in memory of and appreciation to the late Rev. Walter Baloaloa for his 37 years of service to the club and community.
The Dunlap Fellowship award is presented to Kiwanis Club members in recognition of exceptional service to their local club, division and community.
In addition to the Dunlap Fellowship awards, Kiwanis California-Nevada-Hawaii Gov. Gary Jander presented Distinguished Service Awards to club members Nelson Okumura, Catherine Shimizu and Ryan Nagoshi.
“Each of these club members brings great credit upon themselves and the Kahului Kiwanis Club through their dedication and support of the various community service projects sponsored by the club,” said club President Richard Minatoya.
The Kahului Kiwanis Club meets at noon every Wednesday at Cary & Eddie’s Hideaway in Kahului.
