Society awards grant to Katherine Larson

Katherine Larson, a 2013 University of Hawaii Maui College graduate with an associate degree in early childhood education, received a $1,000 grant from the Gamma Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma Society International at its June luncheon.

Larson will be attending UH West Oahu in the fall to pursue her bachelor’s degree in social science-early childhood education. She also works at FUN 2, 3 Preschool in Kula.

Delta Kappa Gamma Society International members are women educators from around the world.

An annual rummage sale held during the summer provides the funds for this local grant.

The society also awards state and international grants to individuals who are entering the field of education.
