Classes to satisfy boater education requirement
A new “About Boating Safely” course taught by the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary will be held Friday and Saturday at the Hawaiian Islands Humpback Whale National Marine Sanctuary at 726 S. Kihei Road.
The Friday class will be from 6 to 9 p.m. and will discuss a new state law addendum. This course will be free if one has a current About Boating Safely card or if participating in the Saturday ABS class.
The Saturday course will be from 7:45 a.m. to 4 p.m. and will discuss boating safely.
The classes will satisfy the new Hawaii mandatory boat operator education that will be required as of Nov. 10, 2014, if both class days are attended, a release said.
