Maui teachers can nominate an outstanding student to be recognized and entered to win an iPad Mini at future Family Sundays events this year. Event dates and information about student nominations can be found at www.mauimall.com.
Student winners chosen between March and November will have a chance to win a MacBook Air notebook on Jan. 26 during the Maui Mall Family Sundays finale event.
Last month, Maui Mall awarded Lihikai Elementary School 4th-grader Caitlyn Riopta an iPad Mini. She was nominated by her teacher Reid Fukushima, who called her responsible, intelligent, modest and kind.
“Caitlyn shows great leadership skills and has the ability to get along well with everyone she meets,” said Fukushima. “She studies hard and always turns in her work on time. . . . When doing her work she will go over and beyond what is required of her.”
Riopta serves as classroom treasurer and has won the Surfer of the Month award and Positive Action reward.
She is involved in Girl Scouts and takes piano lessons.
