New high school opens with hula and blessing

FIRST PHOTO: The new Haleakala Waldorf High School on the grounds of the Hui No’eau Visual Arts Center in Makawao officially opened Aug. 19 with a ceremony. The new private high school opens with 25 students in grades 9 and 10. Antje Bojarsky, pedagogical chair of school, welcomed the students to the new campus. Haleakala Waldorf has a lease with Hui No’eau through June 1, 2016. It will be a temporary site as the Haleakala Waldorf works on a permanent location for its high school, school officials have said.
