Workshop for fundraising professionals

The Association of Fundraising Professionals Aloha Chapter is hosting a planned giving workshop from 8 a.m. to noon Friday at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center.

The chapter is partnering with the Planned Giving Council and the Pacific Philanthropy Partners to present this workshop for Maui fundraisers, development professionals, nonprofit executive directors and board members.

The workshop titled “Legacy for a Lifetime: The Path to Life Long Giving” will provide attendees with an opportunity to expand their general planned giving knowledge, learn new skills they can apply in their organizations, and network with peers and industry leaders to share ideas, information and solutions.

“We are excited to be offering this much valued workshop to our Maui fundraising members and peers,” said Sarah Tenney, aloha chapter board president. “We realize a strong need for more training for fundraising professionals on our Neighbor Islands, and this event is an example of what we want to offer.”

The fee for group members is $50, and for nonmembers it is $65.

There is also a group discount (three or more) for $45 each.

By extending educational events to the Neighbor Islands, the chapter hopes to increase awareness of its 30-year anniversary and new strategic plan.

It includes strengthening education and engagement of fundraising professionals and nonprofit staff statewide.
