Ka Lima O Maui recognizes 8 contributors with awards
Eight awards were given to those who contributed to Ka Lima O Maui and its mission at the organization’s annual meeting Friday in the Maui Economic Opportunity classrooms.
The categories and winners were: Ambassador of the Year – Matt Thayer; Grounds Employee of the Year – Jonathan Hosaka; Custodial Employee of the Year – Rosemary Manini; Waiver Participant of the Year – Ryan Behn; Job Placement of the Year – Jayare Sabalo; Employer of the Year – Sheraton Maui Resort & Spa; Contractor of the Year – St. Theresa Church; and Staff of the Year – John DeBlasio.
The annual meeting marked the agency’s 58 years of helping adults with disabilities build self-reliance through job placements, job training and life skills training.
About 125 people attended the event featuring guest speaker Lydia Sheets, Maui branch administrator/vocational counselor for the Maui Department of Vocational Rehabilitation.
Ka Lima O Maui provides a variety of services, such as grounds and custodial services, job placement programs and the Medicaid Waiver Program.
