Resort to present Grown on Maui Farmers Market
A free Grown on Maui Farmers Market will take place from 7:30 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Whalers Village Fine Shops & Restaurants in Ka’anapali Beach Resort.
Ka’anapali Beach Resort Association in cooperation with the Maui County Farm Bureau and Whalers Village Fine Shops & Restaurants present this West Maui market.
“Fresh, local and flavorful matter,” said Shelley Kekuna, executive director of Ka’anapali Beach Resort Association. “Our quarterly farmers’ market is an opportunity for West Mauians and visitors to buy local and meet Maui farmers, most of them farm owners.”
The market will feature West Maui farms including Ho’opono Farm, SimpliFresh, NapiliFlo, The Neighborhood Farm and MauiGrown Coffee as well as farmers from Hana, Kula and Haiku.
In addition, the November market welcomes Melanie Boudar, chocolatier and owner of a cacao farm in Haiku called Manawai Farms. Boudar will be on hand with gourmet chocolates and to share information about her agricultural tourism operation, to open in 2014.
All products offered for sale at the market are grown on Maui. Farmers, food producers and chefs will demonstrate uses for their wares and answer questions.
Whalers Village extends free parking from 7:30 to 11:30 a.m. with validation obtained at the market.
