Rotary clubs surpass fundraising goal
Rotarians throughout Hawaii joined Rotary clubs around the world Oct. 26 to raise money toward the effort to eradicate polio.
Eight Maui Rotary Clubs were at places of business around Maui, along with students from seven Maui high schools, and hosted “Trick or Treat to End Polio Now” collection events.
One Maui Rotary Club held a golf tournament, and funds were allocated to this effort. The goal was to generate $400 per club, hoping to accrue a total of $3,600 in collections. Due to the generous contributions from the community, that goal was surpassed and $4,025 was collected.
Participating places of business were Safeway in Lahaina and Kahului; Long’s Drugs in Kihei, Kahului, Wailuku and Pukalani; and Fernando’s Mexican Grill & Cantina at the Queen Ka’ahumanu Center.
