Holiday ornaments to help 3 Maui children

Maui Thing in Wailuku has created a window display to benefit three Maui keiki in need.

The clothing store is selling personalized ornaments on its driftwood Christmas tree for $5, with all proceeds going to A Keiki’s Dream’s Sick Children Fund.

The money will go directly to the following Maui children and their families:

* One-year-old Jesse Henos and his family. Jesse has a heart condition and has been at Rady Children’s Hospital in San Diego since October.

* Eleven-year-old Sina Kahaiali’i-Sugunga is on home dialysis as she awaits a kidney transplant. She was also recently diagnosed with cardiomyopathy. The left side of her heart is slowly losing function.

* Baby Maddyson Loope, who was born weighing 1.48 pounds and is in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Kapiolani Medical Center. Her mother stays with her while her father flies to Oahu on his days off.

As a thank-you to all those who support these children, Maui Thing has hidden discounts attached to each ornament to use at the store.

Maui Thing is at 7 N. Market St. For more information, contact Lesley at 249-0215 or
