KCA elects 13 directors for 2014
The Kihei Community Association elected the 2014 board of directors at its Nov. 19 general membership meeting. The 13 directors taking office Jan. 1 will be Andrew Beerer, Linda Berry, Michael Di Bella, Jeanne Duberstein, Harry Hecht, Daniel Kanahele, Alana Kay, Mike Moran, Adele Rugg, Patricia Stillwell, Greg Stratton, Mary Trotto and Randy Wagner.
In addition to the elections, the KCA offered its first KCA 2013 Wiliwilli Warrior Award for outstanding achievement in the South Maui community this year. The winner was Beerer, returning director, who achieved the culmination of his long campaign as president of the Kihei High School Action Team in moving forward plans for the new Kihei high school. It is now fully funded with an announced opening in 2018.
Following long-standing policy, the KCA has no meeting in December, but will be back to the “third Tuesday of the month” at 6:30 p.m on Jan. 21 at the Kihei Charter Middle School on Lipoa Street to examine coastal erosion in South Maui.
The meeting is open to the public, and will begin the 2014 Maui Food Bank Drive.
