Restaurant week gives food bank $7,000

Wailea Community Association’s General Manager Bud Pikrone recently presented checks totaling more than $7,000 to Marlene Rice, development director for the Maui Food Bank, on behalf of participating Wailea restaurants from the recent Restaurant Week Wailea promotion.

Wailea Resort’s biannual dinner promotion showcases the resort’s dining venues while providing an opportunity to raise funds for the Maui Food Bank.

“Each of our 21 participating restaurants agreed to make a contribution to the Maui Food Bank for every prix-fixe entree sold during Restaurant Week Wailea. The response, once again, was overwhelming, a huge success for our restaurants, the local community, visitors and the Maui Food Bank,” said Pikrone. “We have just set the dates for next year, with Restaurant Week Wailea taking place May 25-31 and Nov. 9-15.”

Participating Wailea Resort restaurants that contributed to the Maui Food Bank are: Alan Wong’s Amasia, Bistro Molo-kini, Capische, DUO Steak & Seafood, Fabiani’s Wailea, Gannon’s, Humuhumunuku-nukuapua’a, Joe’s Bar & Grill, Ka’ana Kitchen, KAI Wailea, Ko, Longhi’s Wailea, Mala Wailea, Manoli’s Pizza Co., Monkeypod Kitchen by Merriman, Mulligans on the Blue, Nick’s Fishmarket Maui, Pita Paradise Bistro Wailea, Ruth’s Chris Steak House Wailea, Spago and Tommy Bahama.
