Dean’s Lists

Holden Awong of Kahului has been named to the honors list for the fall term at Graceland University at Lamoni, Iowa.

Students with a GPA between 3.65 and 3.99 are named to the honors list.


Charleston Southern University in Charleston, S.C., has named freshman Teianna-Lei Collins-Shirota of Kula to the dean’s list for the fall semester.

In order to be named to the dean’s list, students must have earned a 3.5 or higher GPA and earned at least 12 credit hours for the semester.


The following students from Maui are listed on the 2013 fall semester dean’s list at the University of Portland in Portland, Ore.: Kristine Omura, senior, nursing; Junna Gazmen, freshman, business administration; Robert Nerveza-Shizuma, junior, biology; Catalina Croteau, senior, nursing; Ian Bingham, freshman, civil engineering; Taylor Rudow, junior, environmental ethics and policy; Elle Fujimoto, freshman, biology; Charles Rutkowski, senior, electrical engineering; Kevin Hanscam, sophomore, mechanical engineering; Reyn Stisher, freshman, civil engineering; and Jessica Busek, freshman, undeclared.

Dean’s Lists

Oregon State University in Corvallis, Ore., has announced its Scholastic Honor Roll for the fall term. To qualify, students must carry at least 12 graded hours of course work. Students on the honor roll include the following Maui residents:

Straight-A average

Kameron T. Kaneshina of Makawao, senior, exercise and sport science.

3.5 or better

Colin F. Dickens of Haiku, senior, chemical engineering; Amanda K. Matsuda of Lahaina, freshman, exercise and sport science; Megan F. O’Malley of Lahaina, sophomore, sociology; Kerri M. Yamamoto of Lahaina, junior, general science; and Ashley M. Juan of Wailuku, sophomore, biology.

The following Maui residents have been named to the dean’s list at Pacific University in Forest Grove, Ore., for the spring semester: Kameron Boro and Chase Rogers of Lahaina; Dane Lum Ho of Makawao; and Darran Kim, Joey Ooka and Kaily Tamaye of Wailuku.

The students are among 331 of Pacific’s 1,700 undergraduate students to achieve the honor.

To qualify for the dean’s list at Pacific, a student must achieve a term grade-point average of at least 3.70 and complete 12 or more graded hours.
