Dean’s Lists

Kayla Mikasa of Makawao and Alana Song of Kula were named to the dean’s list at Loyola Marymount University for the fall 2013 semester.

Students named to the dean’s list have completed 15 semester hours at LMU and earned a cumulative grade-point average of 3.5 or better. Additionally, a student must have completed all of his or her courses and never received an F in any course.

Loyola Marymount University is in Los Angeles.

Emese Harris of Kihei, Vijay Maulit of Lahaina and Kristina Marie Soliven of Puunene were named to the dean’s list at Arizona State University for the fall semester.

Undergraduate students who earn 12 or more graded semester hours during a semester in residence at ASU with a grade-point average of 3.50 or higher are eligible for the dean’s list.

Arizona State University is in Tempe.

Louis Turbeville of Makawao has been named to the Whitworth University Laureate Society for the fall semester.

Turbeville qualified for the academic honors society by maintaining a grade-point average of at least 3.75 during the semester.

Located in Spokane, Wash., Whitworth is a private liberal arts university affiliated with the Presbyterian Church.

Michelle Rabara of Kihei has been named to the dean’s list at the University of Dayton for the 2013 fall semester.

To qualify for the dean’s list, an undergraduate degree-seeking student must have a minimum of a 3.5 grade-point average for that semester and must have been enrolled for 12 or more credits that semester.

The school is in Dayton, Ohio.

Dean’s Lists

Kahului resident Brandon Walter Akamine, a dietetics major at Iowa State University in Ames, was named to the fall dean’s list.

Students named to the dean’s list must have earned a grade-point average of at least 3.5 on a 4.0 scale.

Rachael Taylor of Haiku was named to Fort Lewis College’s dean’s list for the fall semester. Taylor’s major is biology. The school is in Durango, Colo.

To be eligible for the dean’s list, a student must carry a semester grade-point average of 3.6 or better.

John Van Scoy of Kula has earned placement on the Gonzaga University dean’s list for the fall semester. Van Scoy’s major is human physiology. Students must earn a 3.5 to 3.69 grade-point average to be listed. Gonzaga University is in Spokane, Wash.

Cadet Zachary A. Taylor, a freshman from Wailuku majoring in international studies, was named to the dean’s list for the first semester of the academic year 2013-14 at Virginia Military Institute in Lexington. To be eligible for the dean’s list, a cadet must have a term grade-point average of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale and no grade below C.

Taylor’s parents are Mr. and Mrs. Jeffrey S. Taylor.

Danae Gabrielle Olaso of Wailuku was named to the dean’s list at Baylor University in Waco, Texas, for the fall semester.

To be named to the dean’s list, a student must be an undergraduate with a minimum grade-point average of 3.7 while enrolled in a minimum of 12 semester hours.

Kayla Yonamine of Kahului, a junior in the college of arts and sciences; and Kelsey Tengan of Makawao, a fourth-year student in the school of dentistry, were both named to the dean’s list for the fall semester at Creighton University in Omaha, Neb.

Full-time students who rank in the top 10 percent of their class for the semester and earn a 3.5 grade-point average or better on a 4.0 scale are eligible for the dean’s list.

Kelby Akemi Hiromoto of Kahului and Lance K Valdez of Wailuku were both named to the dean’s list for the autumn quarter at Seattle Pacific University.

Students on the dean’s list have completed at least 12 credits and attained a 3.5 or higher grade-point average.
