Book Trust Maui event raises over $75,000
Book Trust Maui held its second annual Book Trust Extravaganza: For Collectors of Fine Art, Wine & Books at Gannon’s Restaurant on Feb. 1. More than 125 guests gathered for a night of food and views in Wailea to support Maui County’s keiki in need.
Rick Paul, principal of Hana High and Elementary School, provided insight into how his students’ passion for reading has increased because of the Book Trust program implemented in the school.
Through the support of auction donors, sponsors, and supporters, the event raised more than $75,000 for the Maui County program.
“The second annual Book Trust Extravaganza was an extraordinary event to celebrate a shared commitment for Maui County’s keiki in need to not only own books – but to own books they’ve selected, books they are excited to own, and books that will inspire their passion for reading,” said Amy Friedman, Book Trust executive director. “Importantly, it was also an evening to thank our treasured supporters of Book Trust in Maui County.”
