Coastal dunes and wetland refuge subjects of presentation
Scott Fisher, director of conservation for the Hawaiian Islands Land Trust, will discuss the Waihee Coastal Dunes and Wetlands Refuge at the Saturday meeting of the American Association of University Women at Dragon Dragon Chinese Restaurant in Maui Mall.
The meeting will begin at 10:30 a.m., with lunch at noon. There is a cover charge of $3 for members and $5 for guests for the talk.
Fisher will present an illustrated talk about the archaeological and natural history studies that reveal 1,000 years of human habitation on Maui and the future of the ecological restoration at the 277-acre Waihee Refuge.
