Maui United Way named primary beneficiary of Color Run
Maui United Way is seeking volunteers to assist with pre-registration for the Color Run in Central Maui on March 30. The organization has been chosen as the primary beneficiary for this 5K race that is expected to draw thousands of participants.
Volunteers are needed to help with preregistration March 28 at Sports Authority and March 29 at Queen Kaahumanu Center, with two shifts on each day – 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 1:30 to 6:30 p.m.
Race-day volunteers are needed to help from 6 a.m. to noon to do a variety of tasks, including handing out water, assisting with check-in, revving up the crowd at the finish and more.
Volunteers helping with two or more shifts at preregistration will be able to participate in the race at no cost.
The Color Run will donate $40 to Maui United Way for every volunteer who selects Maui United Way or any of its 40 nonprofit partner agencies during registration.
Volunteers must be at least 15 years old, able to work an entire shift and wear closed-toe shoes and clothes that they don’t mind getting dirty, a news release says.
Volunteer registration can be done at www.mauiunitedway.org or by calling 244-8787.
Any companies interested in registering a volunteer team may contact Maui United Way directly.
