Skyline Eco-Adventures hosts oldest-ever zip line participant
Skyline Eco-Adventures recently hosted its oldest-ever zip line participant at its Haleakala location.
Nels Gerhard Glesne, a 98-year-old Maui resident, completed all five lines of the course, which includes towering eucalyptus trees and a swinging bridge in Upcountry Maui. Glesne, who was born in 1916 in Aberdeen, S.D., is a World War II veteran and retired forester. He moved to Maui in August 2013 and has three daughters, one son, seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was married for 69 years.
“I am the luckiest man alive – a cat has nine lives, and I’ve had 11,” said Glesne, who also plays tennis regularly.
