Photovoltaic training for installers
Starting Saturday, a 40-hour advanced photovoltaic training will be offered on five weekend days for photovoltaic employees at the University of Hawaii Maui College’s Sustainable Living Institute of Maui.
This training provides one of the requirements for taking the North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners Installer exam to become a nationally certified installer.
In a separate training, UH-MC SLIM will offer the 40-hour battery-based photovoltaic solar design training starting June 7 and running for five weekend days. This training focuses on off-grid, grid-tied with battery backup and hybrid photovoltaic systems.
The instructor for both trainings is Lyman Morikawa, principal engineer at Morikawa Associates in Pukalani.
The cost is $895. To register for this first-in-Hawaii training, call 984-3231 or receive a 10 percent discount by registering online at edventuremaui.com.
