Upward Bound offering summer food program

The Upward Bound program at the University of Hawaii Maui College is participating in the summer food service program.

Meals will be provided to all eligible children enrolled in the Upward Bound six-week Summer Academy free of charge (To be eligible to receive free meals at a residential or nonresidential camp, children must meet the income guidelines for reduced-price meals in the National School Lunch Program. Students must also be fully enrolled in the Upward Bound program for this site only.)

Children who are part of households that receive foods stamps, or benefits under the Food Distribution Program on Indian reservations, or Temporary Assistance to Needy Families are automatically eligible to receive free meals at open sites on Maui. Call 587-3600 for information on an open site.

The Upward Bound Summer Academy runs from June 9 until July 18.
