Japanese school holds graduation

Wailuku Hongwanji Mission Japanese School’s graduation ceremony was held May 22 at the mission’s temple.

Tasia Misae Matsuda was presented her diploma together with the following awards:

* Honpa Hongwanji Mission of Hawaii Bishop’s Award

* Hawaii Kyoikukai Award

* Maui Kyoikukai Award

* Japanese Educational Fund of Hawaii Award

Alana Yoshiko Battad, Donovan Kiyomi Ikeuchi, Naomi Yuriko Takakura, Hiiaka Kahuhu, Emma Mika Endo and Sean Aimi Sakamoto received the Japanese Educational Fund of Hawaii Award.

Donovan Kiyomi Ikeuchi received the 6th-grader’s Bishop’s Award, and Braden Toshimi Nishimoto received the Maui Kyoikukai Award.

Registration for 2014-15 will be held June 14 from 9 to 11 a.m. at the mission’s office.

Japanese-language instruction will begin Aug. 4. Parents coming to the registration are asked to bring a photo of their child.
