Salad sales benefit Hawaii Agricultural Foundation

Duke’s Beach House presented the Hawaii Agricultural Foundation with a donation of $2,289 during a recent Henry Kapono performance.

The Hawaii Agricultural Foundation is a nonprofit organization that works to educate the public on the important role local agriculture has in the community, according to a news release.

A portion of the proceeds from the restaurant’s “Farm Salad” during the months of January, February and March was donated through the Duke’s Beach House Legacy of Aloha.

“Hawaii Agricultural Foundation provides vital support to our local farmers and ranchers,” said Duke’s Beach House General Manager Shaughn Helliar. “By supporting our agriculture community, we not only gain fresh, locally grown products, but it also supports the people and businesses in our community.”

Throughout 2014, Duke’s Beach House will donate a portion of the proceeds on a featured salad made with Maui-grown produce to the Hawaii Agricultural Foundation. The featured salad will be denoted by the “Growing Future Farmers” logo on the menu.
