Students receive HGEA scholarships
The Hawaii Government Employees Association recently awarded HGEA Charles R. Kendall and Russell K. Okata Scholarships to 37 HGEA members or dependents. The recipients were selected on the basis of financial need, academic ability, personal letters and recommendations.
Three of the recipients are from Maui: Alia Garcia is the recipient of a $2,500 scholarship and will be attending the University of Hawaii Maui College.
Taylor Tamanaha and Kaiuwailani Yen are the recipients of $1,500 scholarships. They will be attending Grand Canyon University and Chandler-Gilbert Community College, respectively.
