Two students serving in Sen. Hirono’s intern class

Alex Chun will represent Maui and Michael Kikukawa will represent Molokai in Sen. Mazie K. Hirono’s 2014 summer intern class.

Chun is a resident of Wailuku and graduated from Baldwin High School. He is a student at the University of Washington, where he majors in political science and works for the Office of First Year Programs.

Kikukawa was born and raised on Molokai and is a graduate of Molokai High School. He was a delegate to the United States Senate Youth Program in 2013, was elected the vice chairman of the Hawaii State Student Council, and interned in Gov. Neil Abercombie’s Office of Constituent Services. He is a freshman at Harvard University, where he is active with the Institute of Politics and serves on the board of the Harvard-Radcliffe Asian American Association. He is also a member of the Harvard College Democrats and the Harvard College Law Society.

Both students will serve in Hirono’s Washington, D.C., office.
