Kauluponookaleilehua Luuwai of Kula was named to the dean’s list for the spring semester at the Shidler College of Business, University of Hawaii. She was selected for outstanding academic achievement, according to a letter from V. Vance Roley, dean of the college.
Kaila Nip of Lahaina was named to the dean’s list at Linfield College in McMinnville, Ore., for the spring semester.
In order to be named to the dean’s list, students must complete 12 graded credits and be in the top 10 percent of their class.
Michael Rummel, a 2011 graduate of St. Anthony Junior-Senior High School, has been placed on the dean’s list for the spring semester at the University of San Francisco. To be selected for the dean’s list, students must maintain at least a 3.5 grade-point average. Rummel is the son of Jeffrey and Elisa Rummel of Kihei.
Jinny Lee Milani of Kula and Kamehanaokala Lee of Wailuku were both named to the dean’s list at California Lutheran University in Thousand Oaks for the spring semester.
Students qualify for the dean’s list by maintaining a 3.6 grade-point average in their academic subjects.
Milani is a political science major, and Lee is a communication major.
Josie Gomez, daughter of Barbara Newton of Lahaina and Robert Gomez of Lahaina, has been named to the 2014 Lawrence University dean’s list for maintaining a 3.4 grade-point average or higher for the full 2013-14 academic year. Gomez is a 2010 graduate of Lahainaluna High School. The school is in Appleton, Wis.
Gerald Patrick Maeda, a freshman majoring in environmental sciences at the University of Rochester, has been named to the dean’s list for academic achievement for the spring semester. Maeda, a resident of Makawao, is the son of Riki Maeda and Maureen Maeda and a graduate of St. Anthony Junior-Senior High School.
