Paving and striping in Puunene
Goodfellow Brothers grade setter Kawika Benjamin uses a GPS device last week during a paving-and-striping project at the intersection of Hansen Road and the driveway to the new Maui Economic Opportunity transportation baseyard in Puunene. The driveway enters Hansen Road near the Puunene Post Office. The new baseyard, which will replace the facilities at the old site across from Sears at the Queen Ka’ahumanu Center, is expected to open early next year. MEO provides paratransit and human services transportation to people with disabilities, youths and seniors. MEO has 125 vehicles in its fleet on three islands in Maui County.
