Assistance Dogs of Hawaii to host Valentine’s benefit

Assistance Dogs of Hawaii will host its seventh annual Valentine’s fundraiser at the Makena Beach & Golf Resort from 5:30 to 9 p.m. Feb. 14. Tickets are $150 per person and tables of 10 are available for $1,500.

Attendees will meet the dogs of Assistance Dogs of Hawaii and enjoy a jazz quintet, gourmet three-course dinner and live and silent auctions. Guy Hagi and Kim Gennaula will emcee the program, highlighting successful graduate teams and current puppies in training.

Since its inception in 2000, Assistance Dogs of Hawaii has graduated over 60 service dogs with people in need around the state and touches the lives of thousands of Hawaii residents each year through community outreach programs. ADH places its assistance dogs and provides lifetime follow-up support free of charge to the recipients.

“The generosity of our dedicated supporters is what makes this program possible and this evening is a great way to say thank you and for our supporters to see the lives that are changed because of their generosity,” says Mo Maurer, executive director.

This event is sponsored by the Leis Family Foundation, The Queen’s Medical Center, Bank of Hawaii and Windermere Valley Isle Properties.
