Mana‘o Radio participating in nationwide fundraising effort
Mana’o Radio is taking part in the first-ever nationwide GiveBig to MyStation giving days program to support community radio.
GiveBig to MyStation, scheduled for Thursday and Friday, is an initiative of the National Federation of Community Broadcasters in partnership with Click & Pledge, and is an innovative online and social media fundraising event that encourages listeners and supporters of community radio to donate to their favorite radio station during the two-day campaign.
“Mana’o Radio makes a difference every day in our community through informing, educating and entertaining the Maui community with radio broadcasts of multicultural and community-related programming,” said John Bruce, vice president of Mana’o Radio.
“We are excited to partner with other nonprofits on Maui to see how much we can raise to serve our community.”
Beginning at midnight Thursday and continuing until 11:59 p.m. Friday, supporters of Mana’o Radio can go to mystation.givebig.org and type KMNO in the search bar to make tax-deductible donations to support community radio.
All online donations for Mana’o Radio during GiveBig to MyStation will go directly to support Mana’o Radio’s mission.
“Giving days have proven to be successful models for many different kinds of nonprofits and we think that community radio is a natural for this type of social fundraising effort,” said Michael Elam, president of Mana’o Radio.
“We are excited to be part of this unique fundraising effort.”
