STEM Imagineers raising funds for trip

The Pukalani STEM Imagineers are raising funds to attend the VEX IQ World Championship in Louisville, Ky., in mid-April. The team won the STEM Research Project award at the Hawaii State VEX IQ Robotics Championship to qualify for the world competition. It needs to raise $25,000 by April 20 to send all 14 4th- and 5th-graders from Pukalani Elementary School and their coaches. It is the only elementary school from Maui, and one of five public schools, that will represent Hawaii.

The team is hosting the following “Meet & Greet” events:

• Today, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. — Prince Kuhio Festival, under the Banyan Tree in Lahaina.

• April 4, 5 to 8 p.m. — McDonald’s Pukalani.

• April 8, 7:30 to 11:30 a.m. — McDonald’s Maui Lani.
