St. Jude ride a growing success
Participants in the 25th St Jude’s “Saddle up” gather in circle at the Pu’u Mahoe’s D.T. Fleming Arboretum while John Thompson leads prayer before a cowboy picnic. The Sept. 23 event drew 42 horses and riders, nine all-terrain vehicles with families and friends, plus about another 20 participants who joined the lunch wagon caravan. A total of $23,057 was generated for the St Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Tennessee. The Thompson family has organized the event for 25 years with Pu’u Mahoe its destination for the last six years.
