Foundations and entities who contributed recently to Maui County community nonprofits and others are as follows:

“Arc of Maui County is excited to announce a charitable grant from The Safeway Foundation in the amount of $7,500,” said board of directors President John Kuge.

“With the support of The Safeway Foundation, we can expand our vocational/employment program, allowing our disabled participants more community-based employment opportunities,” said Rob Lane, chief executive officer.

Arc of Maui County serves individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities throughout the county by providing residential, day program, vocational and waiver services.

Maui Economic Opportunity Inc. has been awarded a $20,000 Hawaii Community Foundation Flex Grant with $10,000 awarded from HCF general funds and $10,000 from the Omidyar “Ohana Fund.

MEO CEO Debbie Cabebe said, “This type of grant award is invaluable as it provides flexibility to use the grant to cover unfunded administrative costs, program expenses or small capital expenses. These funds allow MEO to focus on the important work of helping low-income people become stable and achieve economic security.”
