Rotary Club to host ‘Celebrations Meeting’

The Rotary Club of Lahaina Sunset will host a special “Celebrations Meeting” Tuesday at the Royal Ocean Terrace Restaurant at the Royal Lahaina Resort. Social and check-in begins at 5 p.m. and the meeting will be held from 5:30 to 6:30.

Guests may order from the restaurant menu at a 25 percent discount for this meeting.

At this “Celebrations Meeting,” a number of events and people will be recognized.

Three graduating high school seniors will be awarded scholarships by the club. Macaleigh Hendricks from Kihei Charter High School will be presented with the $5,000 Hawaii Rotary Youth Foundation Scholarship.

Caele Manley from Molokai High School and Ruby O’Donnell from Lahainaluna High School will be each be presented with the club’s $2,500 “Go for the Green” scholarship.

The Vocational Service Award for a business will be presented to Amy Johnston representing the Royal Lahaina Resort.

The Vocational Service Award for an individual will be presented to Jenny Heagney from Bubba Gump Lahaina.

There will also be two “surprise” award recognitions for the Quiet Rotarian and the Rotary Spirit Award.

The club will also celebrate the recognition of being named the Small Club of the-Year for the third consecutive year by the Rotary Clubs of Hawaii, District 5000.

A video presentation will be shown that will feature the highlights of the club’s many activities during the 2017-18 Rotary year.
