Nominations sought for MHS Hall of Honor
The Maui High School Foundation is seeking nominations for its ninth annual Maui High School Hall of Honor Awards.
The categories and descriptions follow:
â€¢ Silversword Heritage Award: A graduate who is distinguished in life and work.
â€¢ Award of Excellence — A graduate who has excelled in his or her field or profession.
â€¢ Spirit of Maui Award — A graduate who gave back to the community, who made a difference within the community.
â€¢ Inspiration Award — A faculty member (not necessarily a graduate) past or present who went above and beyond and made a difference to the students of the school.
â€¢ Saber Spirit — An individual (not necessarily an graduate) who is an unsung hero to the school, possibly volunteered at the school.
To make a nomination, complete the form at www.mauihighschoolfoundation.com or pick up a form at the school’s main office. Forms may also be requested at firstname.lastname@example.org. The mailing address to submit the form is MHSF Hall of Honor Committee, 660 S. Lono Ave., Kahului 96732. Forms may also be faxed to (808) 873-3010.
The submission deadline is March 1.
The nominees in each category will be presented to the 2019 Hall of Honor Selection Committee and a winner will be determined. All award winners will be honored during a banquet on Sept. 24.
Maui High’s Hall of Honor was created in 2011 and annually recognizes individuals with ties to Maui High School who have made outstanding contributions to the legacy of the school and to the school community. The Hall of Honor Awards Banquet, traditionally held during Maui High School’s Homecoming Week in September, is the largest fundraising event throughout the year for the MHS Foundation.
