Vocational awards can help students

Financial help to pay for training in areas such as agriculture, auto mechanics, welding, cosmetology or any trade or nonacademic occupation is now available through four $2,500 scholarships from the Rotary Club of Lahaina Sunrise.

Applicants can be of any age to receive these funds and the training can include apprenticeships, hands-on learning or a variety of nontraditional formats.

Students planning to attend vocational training in college or university are also eligible to apply.

The Rotary Club is seeking applicants who have a passion for their chosen career and need financial help to achieve their goals. The application is available at www.lahainasun riserotary.org or by emailing thefarm@hawaii.rr.com.

The application must be mailed and postmarked by May 6 or scanned and emailed to thefarm@hawaii.rr.com by midnight on May 6.
