Man arrested in robbery probe now facing additional charges
A Wailuku man arrested Monday in an investigation of a burglary and thefts is facing additional charges for another burglary and additional thefts.
Christopher Walden, 26, was charged with second-degree theft of a stand-up paddle board that he pawned after it was stolen from a truck parked on Lower Waiehu Beach Road near Akake Street, police said. The theft was reported at about 3 p.m. Sunday.
Walden also was charged with first-degree burglary and second-degree theft after he pawned a ring stolen in a recent burglary of an Upcountry residence.
His bail was set at $7,000 for the latest charges.
Police are continuing investigations after executing a search warrant on Walden’s vehicle, which was impounded Monday when he was arrested for another burglary and thefts. His bail was set at $7,000 in those cases as well.
Police said stolen items were found in Walden’s vehicle.
Warnings had been posted on Facebook about Walden’s older model silver Chevrolet Tahoe, which had been seen under suspicious circumstances in the Kehalani subdivision area of Wailuku, police said.
