High surf advisory set to begin
A high surf advisory has been posted for north and west facing shores of Molokai and north facing shores of Maui from 6 a.m. Thursday to 6 a.m. Saturday.
The National Weather Service said a northwest swell will arrive and produce elevated surf Thursday to at least Friday night. The surf is expected to reach advisory levels on Molokai and Maui early Thursday afternoon.
Surf along north facing shores is expected to be 12 to 16 feet and 8 to 12 feet along west facing shores.
There could be moderate to strong breaking waves and rip currents, the National Weather Service said.
