Tourism authority supports 23 events
Twenty-three Maui County events received grants for events this year through the Hawaii Tourism Authority’s County Product Enrichment Program.
“As part of our marketing efforts to perpetuate and promote authentic and unique experiences on Maui, the HTA has selected CPEP events that reflect the distinction of each island and what makes it a one-of-a-kind destination,” said Mike McCartney, the authority’s president and chief executive officer. “Our partnership with the County of Maui has allowed us to showcase year-round experiences exclusive to Maui County that highlight our people, place and culture for both residents and visitors to enjoy.”
The grants were among 98 selected statewide. The tourism authority, together with Maui County and the Maui Visitors and Convention Bureau, is working with the recipients to align their programs with the branding set forth by the HTA.
The grant program was created in 2002 as a partnership between the authority and the counties to strengthen and diversify Hawaii’s tourism product and to provide quality resident and visitor experiences.
