A few words from Dr. Seuss

FIRST PHOTO: Dr. Les Chun, Maui Memorial Medical Center chief of clinical and medical affairs, reads the Dr. Seuss book “Horton Hears a Who!” to Pomaikai Elementary School kindergartners in Dayle Hanta’s class Friday afternoon. Chun was one of 20 Maui Memorial staffers who read to students around the island as part of “Read Across America Day,” which is held annually on Dr. Seuss’ birthday. The MMMC staffers visited five schools and gave out 1,400 certificates, 1,400 muffins and 65 books (one book to each class). Along with reading the books, they also talked to the children about living healthy through things like setting and reaching goals, eating right, listening to teachers and studying hard.
