Maui boy, 6, pulled from water unresponsive
A 6-year-old boy was pulled from the water in Spreckelsville on Sunday afternoon and transported to Maui Memorial Medical Center in critical condition, according to a fire official.
Firefighters responded to the 2 p.m. call on the shoreline at the end of Stable Road, according to Fire Services Chief Lee Mainaga. Cardiopulmonary resuscitation was in progress when the call was made.
Once on the scene, firefighters found the 6-year-old boy, identified as a Maui resident, at the water’s edge unresponsive and without a pulse, he said. Fire personnel continued administering CPR until paramedics arrived on the scene to transport the boy in critical condition to Maui Memorial Medical Center.
More details of the boy’s condition were not available as of Sunday evening.
