Flash flood watch issued for Maui County
The National Weather Service in Honolulu has issued a flash flood watch for Maui County in effect through late Sunday.
A flash flood watch means that conditions may develop that lead to flash flooding. Flash flooding is very dangerous. It does not have to be raining heavily where you are for flash flooding to occur.
The weather service said that a slow-moving front will pass over Maui County through Sunday night. The front will combine with a vigorous upper trough to bring the threat of widespread heavy rain that could result in flash flooding. The primary threat will be through Sunday night and into early Monday.
