High surf advisory posted

A series of south swells have triggered a high surf advisory for south facing shores of all islands in the Hawaiian chain through Saturday at 6 a.m., the National Weather Service said Thursday.

The surf, expected to be 6 to 10 feet, may grow higher through the weekend.

The high surf advisory remains in effect through 6 a.m. Saturday.

Beach-goers and swimmers should expect strong breaking waves and rip currents.
