Lahaina man arrested on burglary charge
A Lahaina man was arrested on a burglary charge after he entered a neighbor’s apartment without permission Saturday night, police said.
Henry Yagi, 36, was released after posting $5,000 bail on a charge of first-degree burglary, police records show.
Lahaina patrol officers were dispatched to Komohana Hale apartments on Leoleo Street at about 9 p.m. after a report that Yagi had entered an apartment without permission after he knocked on the door and a woman opened it, police said.
Once inside, Yagi began knocking over furniture, police said. When the woman tried to stop him, he grabbed her by the throat and threw her on a couch, police said.
Two of the woman’s friends forced Yagi out of the apartment, police said.
