See turtles

A group of sea turtles was found feeding on algae near the shores of Hanakao’o (Canoe) Beach Park during the Keiki O Maui Regatta earlier this month. Although five species of sea turtles can be found in Hawaii, the green sea turtle and the hawksbill sea turtle occur the most frequently, according to the Department of Land and Natural Resources’ Division of Aquatic Resources. The endangered oceanic reptiles differ greatly in size, with the hawksbill sea turtle growing 24 to 45 inches and weighing 100 to 150 pounds, and the green sea growing up to 5 feet and weighing up to 700 pounds, according to National Geographic. Additionally, the hawksbill sea turtle can live 30 to 50 years, while the green sea turtle can live more than 80 years.
