The ocean comes to the fishermen

Fishing buddies Micah Dela Cruz (from left), Ryota Seki and Ryan Rocetes seek shelter on their truck Wednesday afternoon as a large wave crashes over the Maalaea Harbor breakwall. The fishermen were preparing their gear when the wave appeared. A strong south swell combined with a high tide to create the sudsy explosions. The National Weather Service extended a high-surf advisory for south-facing shores to 6 p.m. today.
