Wailuku’s gas prices up, while Hilo’s, state’s decline
The average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline in Wailuku went up 4 cents in a week to $4.62, making it, again, the highest price for gas among areas included in AAA Hawaii’s Weekend Gas Watch report.
Wailuku’s price as of Thursday was 10 cents more than last month and 24 cents less than a year ago, according to the report, which is a snapshot of gas prices based on the average of fleet credit card transactions.
Hawaii’s state average gas price was $4.35 per gallon, a penny less than last week, 2 cents more than last month and 10 cents less than last year at the same time.
Honolulu’s price of $4.24 per gallon was unchanged from last week, 1 cent less than last month and 6 cents less than last year.
In Hilo, the average price of $4.36 a gallon was 3 cents less than last week, 7 cents less than last month and 26 cents less than a year ago.
