First Photo: Kala Santiago, 6, holds on to his kite in brisk winds Saturday morning while watching the Little League Senior Division state tournament game between Central Maui and Kaneohe at the Eddie Tam Complex in Makawao. The Santiago family was watching Kala’s brother, Jarom, play for the Central Maui All-Stars. It’s been hot and muggy these past several days, and the National Weather Service says that trade winds should build back today and lift some of the mugginess.
It still is expected to be hot on Maui today, between 85 to 90 degrees. The forecast for the island is partly cloudy with scattered showers today. Winds will be from the east about 15 mph. More settled weather is expected through the weekend. The forecast for early next week is highly unclear due to a tropical system, which may be approaching the islands.
